馬祖東莒島位於列島最南端之處，對於台灣本島而言，更是存在於離島中的遙遠離島。《弄潮》以攝影書裝載著創作者杜可筠在2021至2023年夏天之間往返於島上的三段旅行，透過攝影捕捉島嶼特有的自然生態與地景，同時穿插記錄個人情感變化的日誌書寫與島上採集的植物壓花。藉由書籍的編排，創作者得以重新釐清、彙整島嶼生活的經驗，體現出圍繞於個人與環境之間伴隨潮汐持續的時間。

Dongju Island of Matsu lies at the southernmost edge of the archipelago, a remote outpost even among Taiwan’s outlying islands. "A Tremendous Fortress" is a photobook that documents artist Keyun Tu’s three journeys to the island during the summers between 2021 and 2023. Through photography, the book captures the island’s distinctive natural ecology and landscapes, interwoven with diary writings that trace the artist’s shifting emotional states, alongside pressed plants collected from the island. Through the process of editing the book, the artist re-examines and organizes her experiences of island life, giving form to a sense of time that unfolds with the tides—circulating continuously between the individual and the environment.
